This year I’m making a conscious effort to attend more events outside of the WordPress circuit, and MicroConf Europe is the one conference that I’m most excited to be attending. It’s an event that has been on my radar for quite some time, and now that it’s being held in Barcelona, our current base, it is the perfect opportunity for me to attend.
What is MicroConf?
It’s a two-day conference focused on self-funded startups and single founder software companies. Read that again and you will realise that the target audience perfectly describes most WordPress business owners. That is why, as a WordPress business owner (selling plugins) I’m super excited about learning from other successful entrepreneurs as well as discussing tactics with others in the audience.
Most other conferences of this type are targeted towards startups looking for investment, but MicroConf is the exact opposite. Here it’s all about bootstrapping and the specific challenges that brings with it. No talks about spending your huge piles of venture capital.
Microconf Europe will be held from the 31st August to 1st September 2015 in Barcelona.
I hope to see many other WordPress business owners (especially if located in Europe) there. Do let me know if you’ll be attending. See you there!
PS In the meantime, check out the Startups for the rest of us podcast which is produced by Rob Walling and Mike Taber, the organisers of MicroConf.
