How I’ve Set Up my Workflow for Maximum Productivity

As many of you know, I run two successful businesses: WP Mayor and WP RSS Aggregator. We are also working on some new plugins, and in the meantime I’ve been living a digital nomad lifestyle for the past four years, visiting around 50 countries in the process. It’s not always easy to handle all the work while concurrently traveling and leading a distributed team, but I’ve learnt to set up systems and workflows to help me achieve this.

Since I frequently get asked about my workflow and software that I use, I’ve gone ahead and written an article about my workflow over on my personal blog. So if this is something that interests you, I’d recommend that you check this post out and let me know if you have any suggestions on improving this workflow further.

Attending SmashingConf Europe – My Experience

Last week I had the pleasure of attending SmashingConf Europe, which was held in the fantastic city of Barcelona. This year, as I have mentioned in earlier posts, I am making an effort to attend conferences outside the WordPress track. I’m doing this to widen my network as well as to avoid getting too focused on the WordPress world while ignoring other technologies that are taking the web world by storm.

Best Booking Plugins for WooCommerce

WooCommerce is becoming a huge player in global online e-commerce, and online bookings are an important sub-niche. Hotels, travel operators, tours, spas, personal trainers, etc all need a booking system for their website. The below WooCommerce extensions will help you set up your online bookings without too much hassle. Although

MicroConf Europe Recap, and Why WordPress Product Sellers Should Attend

A short while ago I had announced that I’d be attending MicroConf Europe here in Barcelona.

MicroConf is a conference for self-funded startups. When I heard that description the first time I heard of MicroConf, I immediately thought of the WordPress community. Why? Well, if there’s one ecosystem that is chock full of self-funded bootstrapping entrepreneurs it has to be the WordPress one. I did meet a number of WordPress product owners at MicroConf Europe, and all agreed that it was a great experience and they’d be returning next year. Read on to learn why I think you should attend the next MicroConf.

Best WordPress Reseller Hosting

If you run a small WordPress agency or you are a freelancer with many small clients, it makes sense to think about offering hosting to those clients. It can be a great way for generating an almost 100% passive income stream and give a more comprehensive service to your customers. I’ve done this successfully for many years, and in this post I’ll be sharing some of the best WordPress hosting reseller plans that I’ve used.

Book Review: The Essential Web Design Handbook

I’m very interested in web design trends and try to keep up with a number of industry blogs. Design and user interface are essential aspects of running a successful website, so web design shouldn’t be something only web designers are interested in, but also business owners.

Earlier this year one of my favourite web designers in the WordPress space, Rafal Tomal (lead designer at Copyblogger Media), released a book called The Essential Web Design Handbook. The word book is a bit of a misnomer as there is much more to this release than just the book, as I’ll be describing in this review.

My Experience at WordCamp Europe 2015

This year the 3rd edition of WordCamp Europe was held in Seville, Spain. Like the previous editions, it was a big event with around a 1,000 attendees and overall very well run thanks to a great team of organisers and volunteers.

Pressnomics 4 Dates Announced

The dates for Pressnomics 4 have just been announced.

The well-known conference that centers around the business of WordPress will be held on the 3rd and 4th of March 2016 in Phoenix.

See You at WordCamp Europe 2015!

We’re off to WordCamp Europe 2015 in Seville, we’ll be there on Wednesday around noon, just in time to meet a few people and check the city out before WordCamp goes in full swing. We’re super excited to be attending this event, I’m sure it will be the biggest WordCamp Europe so far.

How to Apply for WordPress Jobs

Knowing WordPress these days is an awesome asset if you’re looking for a full-time or part-time job. WordPress is growing at an incredible rate and there is high demand for WordPress professionals.

In this post I’d like to share some tips for those applying for WordPress jobs. I’ve reviewed hundreds of applications and sadly many of them disqualify themselves right from the get go. They’re a complete waste of time for both the recruiter and the applicant.

So if you are really serious about getting a job in the WordPress ecosystem, keep reading as I present the 5 rules you should keep in mind every time you apply for a WordPress job.
