  1. Hey scott, all of the things you mentioned could be easily done with our directory themes. Since it’s launch, we’ve expanded the directory themes range to a really good number. Look at

Also we’ve over 20 different add-ons and payment gateways to go with this which makes sure you have good choices when your business takes off and you wish to expand.

Getting started with such an advanced theme is a bit different than a regular, simple WordPress theme. Simply don’t deviate from the installation instruction, take your time to look around all the settings and you should be good to go.

Give it a try and if you don’t like it after you use it, simply write to me and I will process a no questions asked, full refund.

    1. I am looking at your products and also What is the diference and why should I go with you?

      1. The theme you are talking about is ripped of version of our GeoPlaces theme and should be compared with GeoPlaces theme (created in 2010) and not Directory (Created in 2013, continuously upgraded, latest update went live this week )

As for why you should go with us, I will leave it up to your judgement. Imho, please review the available alternatives, consider the future requirements once your business succeeds and go with your gut feeling 🙂

        1. I have looked at yours as well and a lot of nice features. However, how is your support to a novice like myself and help in setting it up and configuring it to how I want? Also, I am not too thrilled about the themes. Do you have any others that might fit well for a beach town? Also do you have a link to a directory or list of clients that are using your product so I can see it live and in use by those that have paid and set it up and use it every day and all?

  2. I am looking to create a site that is a directory of all restaurants in Rehoboth, Bethany, Lewes Delaware and the surrounding area. I need a directory that will allow me to ad restaurants and eating establishments and be searchable by name, location, type of food. I also need to have the ability for people to write a review and rate the place so that based on the individual review ratings will give a cumulative review of so many stars or whatever. Also i need to be able to ad images and details on the place. Further i want to be able to allow places to ad themselves but i have to approve before posting to the site. Basically I want to make a sort of mini Yelp for this area of the state. Further I need to be able to ad banner ads. So i have read all of these reviews and comments and am wondering which will be the easiest to install, manage, and expandable? Any help or advise will be great.

  3. Vantage is a perfect theme when it comes to directory listings. It’s got all the features that one would expect from a paid directory script. There is a reason, why even WordPress’ founder has praised Appthemes and its products 🙂

I’m one of the marketplace sellers at AppThemes. I’ve created a plugin for Vantage called “Vantage Search Auto Suggest” which improves its search functionality. It adds Google like Auto Suggest feature in the search – which drastically improves the user experience of the visitor. The plugin is available at the marketplace of AppThemes :

  4. Just saw a very simple map theme launched last week, perhaps worth checking out (free version available):

  5. You might want to look at “Fresh” directory app theme released this month at templatic

Also, GeoPlaces is the one that started this all “directory theme” concept.

  6. what about templatic directory and geotheme, and wpmudev? how does this comapre to those above?

key issue for me is will all these themes work with a theme from another club, or will it not work as well or break?

    1. Portability is always a bit of an issue with such themes that build more functionality than the ‘usual’ themes. If you’re concerned you could take at directory plugins instead, for example the WPMUdev one
