For all those WordPress developers out there who like to post code snippets on their blog from time to time, a good syntax highlighter is essential.

Syntax Highlighter

The best one I’ve found is SyntaxHighlighter Evolved. It is by far the most popular plugin for code formatting, and is based on a well-known JavaScript package by Alex Gorbatchev.

It comes with bundled compatibility for many languages, and you can also check out a simple demo of the plugin in action.

  1. +1 for this one. I use it in most of my WP blogs and it rocks. Good thing it has several color schemes when you have specific preferences or you want it to be compatible with the theme outlook 🙂
