Sometimes you may need to convert posts to pages or vice versa, and as usual a couple of WordPress developers have already developed such a solution for you:

pTypeConverter

pTypeConverter allows you to easily convert any post type of a certain post to another in an easy to use interface. A pTypeConverter role capability prevents unwanted users from converting pages (i.e. only Administrators and Editors have this ability to begin with), which can be adjusted by using a Role Manager plugin.

Post Type Switcher

Another handy conversion plugin, any combination is possible, even custom post types.

Vice Versa

Vice Versa allows you to easily convert WordPress Posts to Pages and Pages to Posts. You can also assign a Page or Post a parent or category(s) as you are converting from one to the other. Vice Versa is easy to install and use. No database tables are affected during installation and there are no additional settings required for the Vice Versa to work.

  1. of these three, currently only Post Type Switcher has been updated for compatibility with 3.9.1

  2. Is it not bad for seo to convert pages to posts? I have around 10 pages which were actually posts and then I convert them to pages, but now I think they should be posts as they are not realy important. I am just wondering what kind of effect it would have on seo…

  3. If you have some basic database knowledge, a more direct approach would be to write an UPDATE SQL sentence to change the attribute “post_type” in the table “wp_posts” (switching its value between “post” and “page” depending on what you want).

  4. Tnx sir i was thinking to convert few of my pages to posts 🙂 finally got the solution i was looking for 🙂

      1. I am using WP to create Knowledge base. I have directory of html files that I imported to WP. It is displaying under Pages.

What I want is that all pages should appear under Posts or as Posts so that I can assign them category and they get updated and published under each respective category.

Can this plugin help me with that. Or It can break the existing theme structure
