In a recent conversation the topic of dating solutions for WordPress cropped up. A friend wanted to build a niche dating website and asked me if I knew of any good solutions for this, based on WordPress. My first instinct was to direct her towards BuddyPress, but the truth is that it may not be so easy for BuddyPress to be converted into a dating site. So I went ahead and took a look at the other solutions available.
First of all, I think it’s important to ask why would someone want to use WordPress as a platform for a dating site? The answer, as you might suspect, lies in WordPress’ simplicity, familiarity, and ease-of-use. It’s already hard enough to start a new business, people don’t want to feel unable to control their own website. They want something that works out of the box and can be easily modified by themselves or someone on their team. So naturally they gravitate towards WordPress, which might well be defines as the easiest CMS of all.
Surprisingly, there aren’t many options in the form of dating plugins for WordPress. In fact, I found only two:
DatingSolutions
The DatingSolutions plugin is the only one that is geared specifically towards creating a dating site on WordPress.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdsz1QsGthc
DatingSolutions is well regarded by its customers, who speak well of the plugin on various forums. DatingSolutions.biz seem to take support very seriously and respond in a timely manner to all questions. I tried sending them two questions and got a reply within minutes. They also release frequent updates that take into consideration their clients’ requests.
DatingSolutions has also recently announced the up and coming release of the iPhone/Android/Blackberry Mobile Dating App that works with the WordPress Dating Plugin. The long awaited mobile dating app that will work for any iPhone, Android device or Blackberry and even some Windows based phones. This is NOT to be confused with the existing mobile dating browser that currently comes with the dating software.
The mobile dating app is now on sale for only $99 dollars. This is a pre-order sales price. Once released the price will go up to $199 so be sure to pre-order your app now.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of this plugin’s front end, but id does look like it has many of the essential features that should be in a dating plugin. It doesn’t have much competition so it is by default the best WordPress dating plugin on the market at the moment.
Check out the demo for yourself and see how it compares to the other solutions you might have found.

I have had similar experiences with WPDating which is apparently the same company as the “DatingSolutions” website.
Here is my experience:
ou should avoid using any products from this company.
They will lie to you to get your money and then they will refuse their agreed upon refund.
Here’s what happened:
I asked many questions prior to purchasing.
One of the questions was: can I use the stripe plugin instead of paypal.
The answer was, “Yes, you can use Stripe plugin. It is available for purchase.”
What they did not tell me was: Stripe does NOT have the same features as paypal…which I did not discover until after setting up my website. With Stripe, you cannot use: discount codes, free trials, or recurring payments in any meaningful way. The plugin also produced a substandard UI which, of course, they offered to fix for an extra fee.
Near the end of my two week initial period, I asked for a refund since I could not use Stripe and they said, “The features you have asked for are in development. Can you please wait for them to be done in the next couple of days?”
I asked, “Can I get the refund period extended?”
They said, “Of course.”
Two weeks later: no updates. So I asked for a refund.
“Kind sir, please wait a few days. Your requested upgrades are almost done.”
Every day for a week, I asked for a refund. Every day for a week: same response.
They then claimed the upgrade was done.
During this time, I also discovered that this plugin is not FOSTA friendly nor is it GDPR compliant….so I continued to ask for a refund.
I left a review on trustpilot…to which they responded today, “We used your money to do your requested upgrades and now you want a refund for no reason. We will not provide you a refund until you remove the review from Trustpilot.”
So now…I am on a mission to let EVERYONE know what kind of business this company is…Thank God I’m in the online web business, right? It’s not like I do things like a keep a running journal of web entries…
Hello there,
First, we have not lied anything to anyone. We have got our demo sites with its credentials on our live site. As well as our support team shows our demo site before a user buys, so they can be clear and confident about what they will be receiving in the package. We do not sugarcoat anything just to sell a product. We believe and focus on long-term business rather than just selling our products for short-term profit. We clearly know and follow that solving issue and providing support to our customer is our primary objective.
Before you judge us reading above review, this is the story form our side
Our customer DANIEL asked usβ if he can use the Stripe with our Dating pluginβ and we repliedβ Yes, you canβ with full confidence because Stripe really works perfectly with WP Dating Plugin. There is nothing to lie here. What we didnβt know was his requirement, which we came to know after he made the purchase, so he gave us two choices, either add his personalized features to Stripe or give him refund
We asked our ex-client DANIEL, we will require some time to add those features for him on which he agreed happily. Within 7 working days, our developer customized Stripe Add-ons with his personalized feature request, since it was a new feature and it needs to pass our Quality Assurance so that our client wonβt have to face any problem in the future, it took us 7 working days to deliver the final output.
Again, our ex-client became furious for delivering one day after the deadline. He was not ready to accept that so again we tried to console him that this was the NEW FEATURE addition in our add-ons, so we require a couple of days for compatibility testing and to confirm that it meets our company standard.
We have done everything that he requested so for that reason we denied him his refund request. In this situation, we had a valid reason. If DANIEL has requested for the refund without asking us to add features, then we would have happily done that because it’s his right to get the refund. We have clearly stated this in our terms and condition too.
After that, he started writing FAKE REVIEW everywhere like above and fully focused on defamation and malpractice.
We want to inform that is a GDPR compliant site.
After his malicious behavior, our board member decided to give him the refund because we can fully focus on giving support to existing customer. We already gave him refund but he still tries to harm our reputation.
We agree that Stripe did not have the features that he wants, but we have added the features as per his request. We did everything that he said and now he got the refund too. Even after that if he tries to bully us with fake reviews, we have nothing to prove.
We are the legitimate organization that becomes happy when our clients make their dating site with our Dating Software and succeed in their business.
His mission might be to harm us, but our mission is to provide excellent service to our customer.
Thank you
WPDating

Will the real WordPress Dating Plugin please stand up?
β the worst customer service
I just tried to purchase their plugin and asked some questions. They responded on my first, but never got back to me on my subsequent email. I was going to buy the multisite version …if thats how they respond to potential customers, what will they support look like after I purchase the plugin?? wont even bother with them. Thanks for all the comments here guys !!
mike please can you share the plugin you purchased from wpdating i don’t have enough money to get one at the moment
Hello mike,
you cannot use the other’s plugin, rather you can talk with them in live chat and get discount on their packages. I am sure they have got one for you.
WordPress as a dating site is the worst. You will have issues. You get what you pay for.
– BAD EXPERIENCE…
They have terrible support. I bought the multisite version with russification for my client.
The solution is slow (specially their chat and members conversation) and not working in Russian at all. The support team just ruined my site and translated it back to English. Lost my client, lost my money. They have no money return policy, whatever bad experience you have. They wrote it on their site. Please avoid my mistakes and save your money before it is too late!!!
Share if you care for your friends not loosing their money!
hi please can you share the plugin you purchased from wp dating i don’t have enough money to get one at the moment
Hello mcdave,
you cannot use the otherβs plugin, rather you can talk with them in live chat and get discount on their packages. I am sure they have got one for you.
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased the dating plugin from without visiting this page and have been using this plugin for a month now. I got the default theme as the DIVI theme which is compatible with the plugin and it’s working well. Till date the support staffs are too responding well and at least I’m happy now but if something arises I’ll make sure to post here.
Thanks,
Hi,
If you want a free plugin for professional dating website, try the Rencontre plugin :
A free powerful and exhaustive dating plugin with private messaging, webcam chat, search by profile and automatic sending of email.
A very powerful and flexible free plugin.
Oh, yeah, I also found the open source version (it’s like a classic version free and open source) downloadable on Sourceforge
Anyway, I think the best way to start is on
Well, in my opinion, it is a very bad idea to build a dating site on WordPress. WordPress is not for that and it can also be very dangerous to base a such Web service on WP.
Finally, Everyone knows that WP is very famous (we know a lot of popular blogs running on WP), but do you know any popular dating site running on it… There is zero!
If you still want to build a Web dating business, Recently I discovered a professional dating site builder. I just test it on local and and was doing its job very well and looks really good and professional. For people who are interested, it’s
Good luck guys!
Oh wait, you have one success? The company has been around for five years and you have one success? You had ample time to fix the bugs and you chose not to. You had the hosting details but didn’t do anything with it. You had them for for a month. I stand behind my statement that this plugin will not get you a real dating site.
For all of those interested in starting a dating site, don’t bother with using WordPress. There are other solutions out there like whiteboxdating.com which is a white label dating software provider. There is datingfactory.com which is the same and both cost you nothing.
For $149 dollars to start a dating site, you get what you pay for.
I’m done with this conversation.
Hi all,
HuntersGo is a name of Michael Allen aka Michael Pennington, the former owner of Datingsolutions up until July 2014.
Michael has a history with dating scripts and not so happy customers as you can read here: /
The reviews till the end of 2014 on WPMajor gave a good impression how the plugin used to be and are in-line with what we discovered after the take over.
As the new owners we refactored the complete code and we’re proud of a fast, reliable result. In our 2 monthly releases we add many new features and improvements. In case anyone would like to asses the code and it’s reliability we’re happy to sent information for a code review to anyone.
For those interested in this plugin, let me give you my experience. We bought the dating plugin from datingsolutions.biz for our website HuntersGo.com. We immediately ran into issues. We provided the company with our hosting details and they never looked at it. They simply sent us a previous version and told us to use that. They then sent us a update version but didn’t correct most of the issues. They had our details and list of bugs for almost a month and never even tried to correct them. They simply sent us a new version without even testing it to ensure that it had corrected the bugs. The end result is that we lost a lot of down time and money because of this plugin. We asked for a refund and told us that we could not have it. I’m past the time where I can issue a charge back but not past the time that I can write a review of it. So, here’s my review.
The plugin is buggy and a lot of features don’t work. The owners don’t work on weekends so if you ask a question on Friday morning you won’t hear back until Monday. Considering that the internet is 24/7, the support for products should be too.
If you plan on using the widely popular Divi theme by ElegantThemes then don’t even try. This plugin does not work with that theme. The Divi theme is designed 100% to WP standards. The dating plugin is not hence the issues you will have with it.
While the dating plugin looks good, it just isn’t any good. You will run into issues the very minute you install it.
Unfortunately there are no other alternatives to this. They are the only WP dating plugin provider that is a plugin. There are other dating themes out there that turn WP into a dating site but they are themes, not plugins so you’re stuck with their look and feel. That is what turned us on with the dating plugin by datingsolutions. It looked really good but when you open the hood and start using it, you’ll quickly find that you can NOT run a dating site with this product.
So what are the basic requirements for a dating plugin in 2015? What if someone had to start building one the right way, from scratch? What would you ask him to build? That would be helpful for developers (including myself) who are not familiar with dating websites in order to build a better solution.
You are the website owner, yet you don’t respond or reply to messages sent to you through your website. Don’t operate a website if you can’t respond to your customers with a positive or negative answer.
Hello HuntersGo,
We appreciate you continuing the conversation here. We provide free support and we help our customers meet the requirements of their dating sites as far as possible. For this, we update our plugin with new feature additions, remove unwanted features and fix bugs that are reported to us.
As for the support service related to you, we were unable to fix your site because the hosting details that you gave us didn’t allow us access to your site. We were only able to see the “Sorry but huntersgo.com is unavailable in your country” message. You have that screenshot in the email that we sent you. That was the point when you decided to refuse our services when we are stilling willing to fix your problem.
Also, there was the need of fixing your site because we had just released the new version and were still in process of bug fixing. And we sent you the link of older version because you wanted to launch your site and as you requested, we wanted it to use stable version. That too was an option for you as we provide updated versions for free to our customers.
Finally, about your comment “can NOT run a dating site with this product.”, we are surprised because we already have one of our successful dating site owners “Ryan” in this discussion itself.
Haaaaaa! I have the same question as Big Jon Stud. I read all this hoping to find some alternative at the end of this Dating Tunnel rant and came away with nothing but a whiplash from shaking my head in amazement. One thing though, I’m kind glad I didn’t buy the plugin two years when I wanted to.
So, Jean, Have you had the chance to take a look at the plugin again, whats your thought? My client has 5 dating site I want to migrate to WordPress and looking for WordPress Theme/Plugin badly.
Regards
So out of all this hubaloo… Does anyone have a better alternative on wordpress?
DatingScript.net is of the leading providers of dating script. The dating script is designed especially for the entrepreneurs who want to start their own dating website. Actually i did not get any problem to using it.
I bought a dating solution from a company called Wazzum Dating Software and the Company seem to have vanished. Anyone knows where I can find them π
Has anyone got full installation guide for this? I found out templates not same as on demo version. It seems template needs a lot customisations. Also how do we translate it to different languages? I want it to be multi languages. Can anyone help please?
The home page template is same as demo. It’s displayed using the single shortcode. Please let us know where did you find it’s not same as demo we’re happy to help you on that from our customer only forum.
There is tool in admin which let’s you to add the language and translate texts in those particular language. I hope that make it clear for you.

Hi Mike,
I think you left a VM message which I will follow up in your morning time. I’d be happy to inform you about possibilities of the plugin and refer you to developers in case you’re in need of customisations.
best regards
Hello,
Thanks Jean for this great review page. It has been informative, but I’m still torn on what to do on making a purchase of this dating plugin or not. Assuming all the comments here are all legit, it is amazing that there could be such satisfied and un-satisfied people with this product. So, now a new company owns Dating Solutions? I guess the Michael Allen guy is out of the picture?
The $200.00 cost of this plugin is almost worth the risk, when put into perspective that the custom built site estimates I got were $10,000-$20,000. There is no way I could afford that, so I would think this would be perfect to use to see if I can even successfully market my site and get members. Down the road I could always have a scratch site built if membership numbers are high enough.
I can afford to lose $200.00. However, there are certain specific features I need. If the plugin doesn’t have what I need then it will not work at all for my needs. I have not received a reply to my email sent yesterday. Hope I get a response soon.
~Thanks
Mike
Hi all,
It’s correct that DatingSolutions.biz has been taken over through Flippa. We’re the new owners since 1,5 week now. The past 1,5 week we’ve been gaining user feedback through support and code reviews.
Let me elaborate on our plans:
> Currently we’re working on release 4.8.2 which contains fixes gathered from the support and reviews.
> Theme’s: currently our designer is working on a new, responsive theme. I’ll post a preview in the news section.
Both release 4.8.2 and the theme are scheduled to be released in the coming weeks.
Then we’ll start working on 4.8.3 what will contain more code optimisations as well as a library with niche theme’s.
Of course we will keep on supporting client’s who bought the product in the past through the support forums and feedback and suggestions are warmly welcomed.
Just checked the payment for the plugin and it now goes to “Well Rise Investment HK Ltd” and that is owned by a company called ProSource out of The Netherlands.
Thanks for the info, lets see what direction this company will give to the plugin.
Seems that DatingSolutions.biz was sold this past week. Per a source at Flippa it was sold for $120,000 to a company in The Netherlands.
That’s interesting, thanks for letting us know about the sale. I did a quick search on Flippa but didn’t find any listing, although they had been listed twice in the past on that marketplace.
It was done via their DealFlow area. It’s a private area that is not available to normal flippa users.
DONβT BUY DATINGSOLUTION !!!!
I was looking for a IOS dating app, and after several visits to many sites I found Dating Solution.I have purchase the βCompleteβ package from Dating Solution AFTER I asked specifically about the IOS source code.
But after I have purchase I ran into problems with the code. So I make contact through their support forum.
But they keep saying the source code are working.
But even without any changes to their code, the code gets an error: βNot configuredβ message.
After several postings, I get this answer βWe do not support iOS/xCode.β.
And when I keep asking they write back: βI recommend getting a real xcode developer to help you..βSo they know the code are not working βout-of-the-boxβ, even with the needed changes.
Now they made my account inactive, so I have spend $299 for NOTHING.
We have the new version that came out this week. Our experience has been pretty cool. They’ve helped us get it all set up. As for the customer service? I don’t know what you guys have experienced but the guy Michael Allen has been pretty cool with us. We send him emails every day and he’s always answered them.
We waited to buy the dating plugin because we didn’t want the old look. We saw the screen shots of the new stuff and it looked pretty nice. So, we waited. It was worth the wait. Looks like it’s been completely redone. Anywho, we like it and we’re glad we got it. Others were unresponsive and more expensive. Kudos DatingSolutions! Don’t let these trolls here knock you down, you’re doing great work and we love it.
We’re not trolls if we are telling others of our experiences with Michael Allen.
You are a troll, You’re slamming DatingSolutions and you’re not even a customer. I suspect that you’re just jealous of a real person who’s not a loser. Wait, you’re not only a troll but you’re also a registered sex offender so people should not listen to what you say you perv!
I am glad to hear there are some people that have had a great experience and that the product is working for them but that doesn’t mean that its been the same for EVERYONE.
I was the first person to post a very DETAILED comment of my customer service experience (not product experience) and if you read it, it wasn’t positive. Does that make me a troll too?
Any product/service is bound to have both good and bad reviews; I for one would like to hear/see both so that I can make informed decisions when purchasing a product. How a company deals with those negative reviews is what’s most important and from what I’ve read here in these comments they didn’t seem to get handled very well at all.
Barry you call Mike a troll… alrighty… if he is a troll or I am a troll or anyone else who has posted a negative complaint regarding the product/service is a troll where is your proof. Have you seen any communications between any of us and Dating Solutions to back up your claim? Do you have any proof whatsoever that what any of us are saying is false? If so I’d like to see it because I know that I for one have all my communications that could prove the validity of my comment and I’m sure others have as well.
I’m also not sure why you bring someone’s personal life into an issue that is centered around the quality of a product/service. It has nothing to do with why a product/service is good or bad or provides any evidence to discredit a negative comment; it’s just plain childish.
Barry, you’re damn straight I’m slamming a the plugin. When I made the purchase I asked a seven questions before buying to plugin for what it was I was looking for and Michael Allen said yes to 6 of them. Followed through on 2. He just wanted to sell me the plugin. I had the plugin for about a few weeks and tried working with it. I contacted him back and forth until I knew he couldn’t keep his word. I tried workarounds and everything. It’s nice that he’s since changed the plugin, but I’m not about to say “Yea, I got screwed over almost a year ago, so I should just forget that Michael Allen couldn’t keep his word then called my client and threatened him and also threatened me and my client in an email (which I still have), but now he’s a good honest man”. Michael Allen is a piece of shit. If you To this day, the plugin is still a piece of shit. I’ve had 3 people on this thread ask for my help and the plugin still runs like junk, only it looks a lot better in the admin section. Also, call me a perv all you want, that’s not news to anyone that knows I’m an honest worker. I’m sure you can find my information somewhere online if you looked. So, in turn I say IF you’re so tough, come find me. We can settle this like men. Though, you NEVER will show up on my doorstep because you’re a coward and a troll.
That’s is what I meant to get accross in my previous email, that whatever we are writing about the company that created the plugin is based on personal issues and not based on the capabilities of the software. This makes it very hard for new people that are considering buying the software to make a desicion. I am very new to the plugin and I have see a few times that I can tell that the guy needs to be a bit more customer service orieted with his customers, but I don’t want to judge my desicion based on that whether I get the software or not.
I just installed the plugin and working on the site still, so far I think it’s a promising software and with the ability to customize it the way I want, it makes it easy to achieve anyones final result. Coming from having a developer quote me quite a bit of money and finally finding out the hard wayt that they did not have the training and knowledge they claimed to have and not finishing the product they promised to delivered, I say this software is 10 times cheaper of what I have already lost and with nothing in return. I think with minor customizations and few changes, you can make this really work. I saw the new version coming up this week for upgrade and it looks better that the current I would say.
Anyways, I am not this guy’s brother, family or friend, so don’t get me wrong.. and I can always say, he needs a bit more skills in is customer service area, but the plugin is by far the cheapes way to get your dating website up and running..
Paco..
Troll? I had this plugin and was promised a LOT that wasn’t even possible. Had many a conversations with the creator and he was an utter sourpuss when I called him out on it person to person in an email and he told me I didn’t set it up right and to look at the forums for a better answer and all I found was things that made matters worse. I bought the plugin 100% and after calling him out on it he refunded me 100% back. Then he started threatening me and my partner saying he was going to smash our reputation online. Don’t call me a troll. You’ve had a great experience, awesome. I didn’t. I don’t support this product one bit.
BEWARE, I would strongly advise seeking another company besides Dating Solutions. Beware, save your MONEY and reputation go to a reputable company. I had a NIGHTMARE experience.
Agreed. It is a waste of money
Hey guys,
Can you be more specific? What your issue becuae the product does not work or more of a personal level? I can see that the guy may need some customer service skills, but that can be dealt with. My concern is more of the product stand point, DOES IT WORK?
Please explain summarize your issue so we know what the problem is. We cannot just judge by you guys saying, “stay away from dating solutions” We need to understand what the reason is.
Thank you.
Hey John and Paco, you guys sound like trolls. Just like that weirdmike guy. I have the dating plugin and my experience has been really cool. I doubt you’re even a customer because they have always treated us nice. Prove that you’re a customer or don’t post at all. You just look silly.
If you want to see what dating solutions is doing then go check out the link . That is their public development site. They sent us a link to show what the new 4.8 looks like. I’m loving the new templates that they are doing now and the new look is very cool. The new profile look is so much better than the one they have now.
Sorry Paco, i didn’t mean you. I meant the John and SillyValley guy. My bad!
So far the two best dating themes i’ve is sweet date. its build on buddy press.
But it has a lot of features a clean look and its pretty popular. Almost 2 thousand downloads on theme Forrest. its $55 and the support is pretty good. I’d give em a try
Then theres lovestory which is also a themeoforrest theme Its also pretty nice. It doesn’t use BP but a lot of the features are built in to the theme its missing many key features that a dating site has but its pretty nice. Send gifts, favorites, woocommerce for subscriptions, block users, delete profiles, chat, live chat, they don’t use any third party plugins its all built by the dev ive talked to him nice guy and always answers questions.
That’s my 2 cents. Dating solutions seems pretty good too. Either of these themes plugins are worth a try.
Oops the only third party lovestory uses is woocommerce which is for subscription. Still a very light weight theme.
To be honest, if you were to create a dating site on the WP platform, looking to BuddyPress isn’t THAT far off for starting out. Many elements of a dating site has the same ones as a social network. What I’ve done prior to pulling a dev team together is just sought out plugins for BP, utilized StackOverflow for customizing options to both the plugins and the functions of the theme I used.
I would also like to suggest looking into using a plugin called UserPro (sure, it’s for social sites but it’s a good start for having a less-than-ordinary look for profiles).
As far as match making and such, you just need to spend some time researching how you could go about adding that using the many resources (even if outdated) available. If something isn’t being supported that’s fine, at least it’s a starting point, take it to Github and Stack and achieve results.
Here, just by using a pre-built dating theme “Sweet Date” (BP supported) and a few plugins and some added code to the functions.php file, some CSS styling and whatever else I can adjust it with, I’ll begin working on getting a niche dating site up and going within the week.
I’m going to use a domain called wethollywood.com and see how far I can get without replying on one major controlling plugin to achieve what I want. Spending 3 years on something just to have it appear bulky, dated and broken isn’t anything you have to worry about.
I honestly wouldn’t listen to anything Ryan (420) has to say, he’s quick to attack and hasn’t anything to look at.
Savvy?
I am starting my own online dating site most of the dating partnership programs don’t even have data about my niche market so i know if they do it it won’t be successful. I register my domain name with godaddy and in in the process of buying the wordpress to start my site (they said i would do it myself). At the moment I don’t want to invest in a web designing team until i see how it takes off and have few members. I want to start of small and free and adjust monthly then gradually move to a dedicated server, so for now I will use godaddy shared server. I was also told if i am going this way to also get the dating solution plugin, so I have been doing some research on this the last few days. I need help.
My questions…
Ryan | 420singles.net: what is your advice, from
just4funhonolulu: did you try the plugin and how did it work for you
Mike: if not this plugin what would you suggest o go about this for starters.
Thanks
-Judi
Hi Judi,
I am in the process to install the plugin but have not yet published. Still working on it..came to find out that WordPress allows only to upload zip files under 2MB and the plugin zip file is over 4MB. Trying to go around that and see if I can make is work.
Mike: Do you know any way around this? Why does the size limit?
Thanks.

Which version of WordPress are you using and do you have access to your cPanel (or hosting panel)?
Some hosting providers may start your php.ini file at 2MB, but to be honest, I don’t think I’ve seen a plugin size cap for plugins (and themes) since WP 3.2 and even then, you should be able to increase the upload size in the php.ini file in your hosting directory of the site.
Create a php.ini file in the /wp-admin directory with the following code:
upload_max_filesize = 64M
post_max_size = 64M
Hopefully this helps.
Thank you all for the responses.
Jean, in one of your responsed to Dating Solutions you ask them that in the case that they had done major changes to their plugin, that you wanted to take a look at it again.. Did you have a chance to do that?
Mike: I am a bit non-technical, when you say “create a framework that’s responsive and simple to use” are you creating a dating plugin or something that works with the Dating Solutions plugin?
So, good… No good to go with Dating Solutions plugin?
thanks guys..
No they haven’t gotten back to me yet.
Thank you Jean.. Appreciate your input.
We’re working on something that’s standalone like BuddyPress. Not anything that hooks into Dating Solutions
Thank you Mike, I got it..
Hi everyone,
I am in the process of creating a dating website and my designer asked me to take a look at this plugin. I hear so many negative and positive reviews. Jean.. have you been able to take a look at the plugin? Please let me know if you have taken a look at it and if you recommend to purchase it. I am inclining to buy this plugin for the simple reason that I like to own my own website and control it in my own. I looked at other platforms and they want you to be afilliated to them, so you don’t even own your website and you are in a sense working for them.
A question I have is this: With this plugin, once I buy it, do they have any owneship on my dating site business? I want to be really clear of that before I make my purchase.
Thank you everyone and hope to get some advise soon ad my designers are waiting on my answer to start building the site. This will be a wordpress site front end linked to this plugin.
Since using this plugin and not being satisfied, I’ve taken the appropriate steps to creating a framework that’s responsive and simple to use. Coded by hand, in America (7 Californians).
We’re running an in-house Beta now. Also, it’s not going to be an arm and/or a leg.
Let me know when that’s done Mike, would love to take a look at it.
Dating Solutions continue to provide me with Awesome Service with Amazing Reliability!!!
I did extensive research both far and wide and found that Dating Solutions Software provided me with what I needed! It’s a user friendly platform at a reasonable price… The thing that is really priceless with this software is both the technical support and “real time” service that is dependable and responsive to your inquiries at your time of need!!! My appreciate goes out to the support team at Dating Solutions.Biz…
I bought the dating plugin and launched my site 420singles.net on Dec.7, 2011. The owner of the Dating Plugin Michael has been with me every step of the way answering every question I have and fixing any issues I can’t fix alone for almost 3 years. I mean if that’s not good customer service then what is?
Dating Solutions also has a great support forum where you can get answers to questions you have fast and talk to other dating site owners using the plugin. On top of that they constantly update there plugin with fixes and new features.
It’s taken me almost 3 years of constant hard work and dedication but my site is starting to make money and receive good amounts of quality traffic worldwide. If you think your instantly going to be rich, your wrong, Just like any business it takes time, money and dedication. Keep in mind when I launched my dating site I was broke, hungry and working part time jobs. If you have your life together and some expendable income then you could really do this.
The first thing I did was get my site set up so it looked decent and worked. Then I bought some stock photos for the front page that complemented my sites niche market. The next extremely important step was getting a professional logo made. Having a professional logo says a lot to the people visiting the site. I paid $150 to have my logo made but it was well worth it. After my site was setup and looking nice I needed to get members on board. Instead of creating fake profiles I decided to keep the site free until I had a decent amount of members. I would spend about $60 – $100 to advertise on reddit and get the most bang for my buck. Reddit has online communities for everything and you can target each community. I let people know in my ad that the site was brand new and free and people began joining. On top of that I worked on my seo and little by little members started rolling in. I would also run ads on Google Adwords. Keep i mind I had very very little extra money to advertise my site and with more money I could have grown a lot faster in a shorter amount of time.
There of course are other options out there such as Buddypress or the Sweet Date theme but those are severely limited in terms of features, options and support. Keep in mind, people are not joining a social network, there joining a dating site and want to meet people, not post funny pictures of memes etc. The dating plugin is built for dating and keeping the users active.
Feel free to contact me by using the contact form on 420singles.net. I’m happy to answer any questions if your unsure about anything or want to get the word from a guy that’s actively using the Dating Plugin.
I fully stand behind this product and recommend it to anyone looking to start a dating site with WordPress.
Ryan | 420singles.net
Jean, I’m confused. So, you bought the dating plugin and used it and came to the conclusion that you can’t recommend it? Truth is you didn’t buy it so therefore you couldn’t have used it and therefore your comment is biased.
The fact that you allow negative and false reviews to be posted on your site by anyone just solidifies the fact that you’re site and its reviews are biased. And for you to come to the conclusion that you can’t recommend it because you think it’s not up to WordPress standards, when you never bought it or used it, makes you as gullible as the people that read and believe fake reviews you have on your site. Maybe if you looked at the source code you’d realize that the php code we use is 100% WordPress standards based on the standards put out by WP via but again, you never saw the code or used it so you’re biased.
Bottom line is that we have thousands of happy customers. Sure we can’t please 100% of them all the time but we go above and beyond the call when it comes to customer support and our BBB rating as well as our current active customer base proves it. We have a great product and it’s constantly evolving with new features and updates and that’s what our customers love.
Michael, I had checked out the plugin a while ago and had come to that conclusion. If you’ve done any major changes to the plugin I’d love to take another look at it. Just to clarify I wasn’t only talking about code standards but also the UI and other things.
As discussed on many occasions, I allow positive and negative feedback here in the comments, if I wouldn’t do that I would certainly be biased. Whenever you claimed that there were false reviews I even took the step to personally contact the commenters and verify that they were real, and help them to reach a solution with you guys, certainly that goes above and beyond what is normally expected, but I’m happy to act as a bridge between customers and plugin developers.
As I said I’m happy to take another look at the plugin if you wish. One thing that bothers me however is the way you attack people that say anything apart from praise for your plugin. This time you go as far as saying that the reviews on this site are fake. If I were going to purchase from you, I would ask myself if this is the kind of person I want to be dealing with…
As much time as the owner spends commenting and attacking people he could have developed a product that works. There are no other plugins to be competition for him so there is no reason for people to post fake reviews. He is a one man show selling a false product.
I have had plenty of experience with other dating software before and I have NEVER seen any one of them operate as fluently as Michael’s. In addition, the support from Michael is phenomenal and NOWHERE have I seen such a FAST response to my questions.
Michael goes above and beyond just supporting his software by being patient to give me the guidance I need in the outer arenas such as hosting and marketing.
So here we have a genius who invented this top notch software that puts others to shame, with the heart to charge such a fair price for the license to use it, and the integrity of character to be such a fast, hands on helper.
Anyone who buys this software will be blessed abundantly! A dating plugin for Word Press stands
in own class but the support that comes with it is truly, the icing on the cake.
Dating Solutions is crap. It does not function properly and the support forum seems fake. I have decided to build it myself after trying to play around with Dating Solutions for way too long. He needs a fully functioning product with set-up details.
If anyone knows of a legit dating plugin, I am willing to check out one more.
At this point in time unfortunately I can’t recommend any dating plugins that are up to the standard expected from a modern WordPress plugin.
You decided to build it yourself? Hows that working out for you?
Ryan, can you help me with building my dating site? I purchased a dating site template and uploaded to my wordpress account. NOW i dont know how to edit most of it! I really need some help from a pro! Thanks
Hi, All
Just want to buy dating solutions plugins but I quited becuase of your reviews. Thank you very much for your reviews.
Trolls will be trolls i believe that datingsolutions.biz looks awesome and i will purchase it in a few days π
Gentlemen, lets try to keep the language decent here.
Michael, the only thing I am disappointed with is the occasional use of bad language throughout these comments. Other than that, I have always stated that I will allow fair comment exchanges on this site. I will only remove spam comments.
We do many plugin reviews and this is the only post which has repeatedly generated this kind of feedback. Without entering the merits of the plugin itself, there is definitely a case of miscommunication between developer/vendor and clients that has apparently been going on for a long time.
I have gone out of my way to personally contact previous commenters who have expressed disappointment with this plugin in one way or another, and this even led to the resolution of some cases (see Amber’s example above). We are here to inform people and help the WordPress community, and not to take sides unless there is a clear case of abuse or irregularity from one party.
I suggest that developers read the following post by Pippin Williamson, one of the most respected plugin developers in the community. It’s primarily about how to leave plugin feedback, but it also goes into how developers should respond to negative feedback, I suspect that many have a lot to learn from someone like Pippin:
Rather than empty threats or slander, when there is a problem lets try to be more humble, accept that everyone makes mistakes, and reach an amicable solution.
Noted and accepted
DBS,
Unless you removed the old posts from your forums, I followed the ONLY search results that popped up and had to contact YOU to fix it because it was an old post about the AmberPanther plugin. There’s a large number of forum posts that no longer apply to the new upgrades.
Also, people should be warned to NEVER grant you access to their site via admin, as I learned you’ll login and make changes without permission.
You should also possibly update your installation instructions, maybe even do something positive and post fixes for issues people may run into when trying to work with your plugin.
3000 clients means nothing when you’re a bitch junk developer that smashes on old customers because you were too much of a pussy to just take a minute and clarify such misconceptions as mine.
You sell (by FAR) the most expensive POS plugin I have yet to find. For $200 it’s not even responsive and the mobile mode is crap, then you want people to pay an additional $99 for the mobile plugin. I could see if you sold something of value to charge more for the mobile plugin, but crap out of the box is just that – crap.
There’s no area for custom CSS use, unless you have a custom CSS option with your theme then have to use !important tags on everything.
What’s the use of needing WP eMember? And is that free with the Dating plugin?
That’s the plugin I was referring to being additional.
Out of everything that has gone on, what upsets me and my client the most is that I asked if the plugin could handle 7 things and it handled 3. Lastly, in no way shape or form did anyone outside of the US ever do ANY coding on the plugin besides you?
I don’t usually troll, but with your idiotic threats against my client and I –
“Prepare to pay for the slander that you have posted on the Internet and I’m going to make 100% sure that everyone knows the type of person you are and that GeekLoveJunction.com is owned by a slanderous asshole”
You then send me an email containing my clients information affirming that you are indeed a petty cunt. You try to then threaten me AGAIN by saying you’re going to hunt me down by the end of the week. You have my number (legit and not a Google number) and I told you to tell your lawyer to contact me, which she hasn’t. You’re a coward and I will troll you and your business online until you can own up to YOUR lies and the fact that you can’t professionally deal with ONE single person.
If your so smart why don’t you just code your own dating site?
Dear Mike (WierdMike), sorry you feel the need to go around posting negative things about me and my company so let me set the record straight. First off, you posted in our forum that the dating plugin required other plugins that cost extra money to run. That is in fact a lie. We sell one plugin and one plugin only. It’s $199 and there are NO other plugins you need to buy to make it work. The two demos we have are setup exactly like that.
You have posted that it was developed overseas. That is a lie as well. I wrote it and I support it. I use an Indian developer to do custom work for my clients. He knows the plugin very well and I farm that out to him. My customers know this and it’s posted on our website. I just don’t have the time to do custom work. If you would have looked you would have realized that. The fact that you didn’t doesn’t surprise me.
We have over 3000 customers and we’ve refunded 7 since we started doing this and that includes you. You got refunded because you posted lies about our plugin. If someone is going to talk shit on the web then God knows that NO ONE wants you as a customer. I refunded you to save me and my support staff a huge headache. I’ll do it again. That is how I roll.
You state that there are false posts in our support forums. That makes no sense whatsoever. Our support forums are threads created by our customers and responded by our support team. Again, the fact that you posted that just reaffirms my theory that you have no clue what you’re talking about and had no other choice to slander us when you figured out that we called you out on your bullshit lies.
You also claim that you had a WP programmer look at it and said it wouldn’t even run inside WordPress. Again, wrong. A simple look at our demos as well as our customer sites will show you the opposite. Not sure why you feel you have to pile more and more crap lies on top of it. I think you thought the more slander you posted the worse it would look for us. Quite the opposite. Nobody cares. They see the demo and they like it. The make money and they like it.
We have hundreds upon hundreds of happy customers that love it and it works for them. They make money and that is the bottom line. They don’t care about your silly posts all over the net because they realize the value in the software. We all know that different versions of PHP and MySQL and different settings in php.ini can cause issues. When we get bugs reported, we fix them. We don’t just release a version and let it become stagnant. We’re constantly updating it with faster code and new features. We’ve released 16 new versions just this year. 14 of theme were all feature releases. It’s what we do.
You’re all correct. They company is up for sale. It doesn’t stop the fact that we’re still developing the Mobile Dating App that goes with it as well as other products inside it and it sure doesn’t stop the support of our customers. A look at our BBB rating will show you that we’re an “A” rated company. That’s what we do. We take care of our customers. You’re not a customer. You’re just a little web guy that got his panties in a wad and couldn’t take it anymore so you went crying to mommy.
In closing, keep posting all the crap that you want. It doesn’t hurt me or my company and after I post this reply, I’ll be done and moving on. I have way too many things going on to be dealing with little whiny girls like you.
Regards…
p.s. Jean, I’m disappointed that your allowing your site to become a conduit for slanderous posts.
Sorry but I have to say that negative reviews should not be censored. Having a site that allows for positive AND negative reviews of products & services should by no means be declared as “a conduit for slanderous posts” if an individuals product gets hit with a negative light.
It isn’t going to be the negative reviews that necessarily damage a company or individuals reputation, but how they choose to handle the response to it both privately and publicly.
From the what I just read of the above comments (users & owner), in my eyes, the response to the negative reviews were handled extremely poorly. Telling people that you don’t want them as customers if they “talk shit” or telling prior customers you don’t want them and additionally referring to them as babies and “whiny girls” does not make anyone jumping in reading this think very highly of the personal character of the owner behind the company.
Not to mention that the “whiny girls” part was actually quite sexist and offensive to what would have been a potential female customer reading the article and following comments.
Long story short. Jean is not to blame for users who post about negative experiences/feedback; negative reviews shouldn’t be censored. You (DBS) in the end are responsible for how people perceive you and your company and you did not just put yourself in a positive spotlight.
Whoever in their right mind supports a horrible plugin as this needs to get off of the internet and stop supporting junk developers. For starters, the plugin isn’t done by the guy selling the plugin. He hired it out over seas. He has by far the most sour look upon people who don’t like the fact that they can call him out on it. He promises such things that the plugin could never deliver and then he wants to go ahead and purchase additional plugins that cost another ridiculous amount of money. You’re a helluva sucker if you buy into this junk. Have you seen the forums? They’re riddled with post and false solutions dating back 3 years ago and on top of that he gets upset that you followed the ONLY solution available on his site because it doesn’t work anymore. Then he takes it upon himself to not only get your user info and go into your site whenever he feels he should (sure, dumb move on my part for giving him the login info – but you’d think without a written solution in an email and just a bunch of notes about him saying what you did was wrong I had to try and get my worth of the $200 I paid for this junk). I recently received a threatening email from him because I outlined ALL of the flaws and lies that’re carried with his plugin. I am going to report him to the BBB as well and continue to put him on blast online after sending me an email regarding that he’s going to make sure my client burns because we were smart enough to understand that his non-custom code is a scam. Also, I would like to add that I’ve had WP and BP coders take a look at the plugin and it doesn’t even run proper inside of WP, it’s custom code to make it feel like it’s working with WP but it’s basically running next to it and not with it. Sure it pulls a bit of data from WP but that’s extremely minimal. It’s hack code that runs inside of tables upon tables. Why would I go ahead and allow a scammer hurt the name of WP and the trust that most people have in finding a good deal online? This definitely sours the stream. I can outline everything that doesn’t work and that’s promised would work if you’d like.
It’s not a tiny list either.
Do NOT purchase this junk. Go spend a few hundred elsewhere to have something custom.
There’s plenty of plugins out there that you can learn to modify with support from and like I have in order to start building my own dating site inside of WP and BP. It’s cost me not a dime so far and I would gladly shell out a couple hundred to know I have something that’s personal and custom.
Thanks for sharing your experience Mike, unfortunately we’ve been hearing similar stories before, although there are also people who like the plugin. I would advice people to make sure the plugin will work for them before purchasing, and if there are serious flaws in the plugin the seller should also offer a money back guarantee. Other than that, there are really very few if any alternatives at the moment.
I left a very detailed review on another review site (which I can’t find for the life of me) and Michael Allen is currently seeking a lawsuit in slander against me. He first laid out that after service was no longer available on his website for a client that he was to cause harm to my clients reputation all because Allen couldn’t keep his promise with a plugin that costs as much as his.
In the works (since this was a nightmare – like worse than Headway when they first launched promising a Drag N Drop WP site) I have started development on Dating features to be integrated into a BuddyPress build that may or may not be anything of cost. I chose this route because finding a legit Dating plugin for WP is an utterly wasteful fight.
On top of that it will be either responsive or come with a mobile theme and will not be handled inside of numerous tables.
Mike, same here
i wrote a review and i got butt hurts from Michael Allen demanding i remove his plugin..
Update: The DatingSolutions.biz business (including the plugin) is now for sale on Flippa
This is splendid! I will leave him a comment followed by some constructive questions on how to handle the amount of negative feedback that follows in the wake of his abandonment *cough* sale, of his junk.
He is trying to sell it for 3 years already
rofl
I just want to say, THANK YOU!! You made one helluva dating plug in. I’ve had no problems getting set up and your video walkthroughs were extremely helpful. I’m recommending you to all my web designer friends.
funny seeing you here…coincidence? I D K …
Hi IMO, not sure I follow your comment here. The software is very fast. A simple view of the demo will show you the same. The plugin can handle many thousands of profiles. You can check out mythaipassion.com and see that it has over 50,000 profiles on it. We have other sites that have over 100,000 profiles and it runs just fine.
Now, if you’re running a dating site on a shared server then of course it’s going to be slow. Who puts a ecommerce site on a shared server? You need at the very least a VPS or Dedicated server. You’re running a dating site, not a web page. The dating plugin is very extensive piece of software. It’s a dating site. You don’t see Match, POF, eHarmony running dating sites on shared servers. Granted they have lots of members but still, putting a dating site on a shared server is just asking for issues. Reason is because on a shared server, the hosting company piles on as many accounts as they can. You’re at the mercy of all the other accounts on that shared server. So, as you can see, having a shared server can make your site run slow. So, again, take a look at the demo and you’ll see that it runs and loads just fine.
As for requirements, we do give you the requirements. The only requirement is that you have WordPress installed but we recommend VPS or Dedicated server. Because this is a WordPress plugin, all you need is WordPress. Also, on our Features page, at the bottom it clearly states that the software works best if on a VPS or Dedicated server.
As for support, I highly doubt that you’re a real customer considering our support is top notch and that we reply to every support treat that gets submitted. A simple look at our FaceBook page will show you several comments from happy customers. That’s because we have great support. Also, another look at our BBB rating will show you that we’re a “A” Rated Company.
DatingSolutions.biz
DO NOT buy Dating solution plug-in.
It is very badly written. very unstable, the code is so dumb and the SQL structure can slow your site 10 times slower.
For a $200 plug in they don’t even give you the requirements for the server so you can’t know for sure if it will work.
The support after you buy is BAD, I am still waiting for a reply.
This is the WORST plugin i have ever bought. i do not recommend it.
You didn’t even explain why “the code is so dumb” or why “the SQL structure can slow your site down?” I’m fairly certain you have no idea what your talking about and have never attempted to run a real dating with the software.
Are you kidding? if you cannot see the problem with the coding so you probably don’t know nothing about developing, regardless to dating sites. the fact that is by wp’s coding standard doesn’t mean that it’s well written, the fact is that the sql structure is too messed up to be used by any site. the coding is very amateur, workarounds and patches to sort stuff out. and lets not talk about the no-support at all issue and the manners of your team.
You can ask your boss about my dating site with this software, after i wrote the review i got my money back, switched software and now-my dating it is one of the top 5 sites in my country. you guys rather refund instead of working.
As for dating solutions – I can vouch for all the bad reviews, and none of them are false as you say. i recommend you start working on a new version from scratch.
Glad you sorted things out Amber, happy to be of help.
Thanks for taking the time to read my comment Marcin.
I just wanted to post a follow up that after a few days of my original comment going live and after a very nice email from Jean (thank you) DatingSolutions contacted me.
Despite their original stance that I was a customer prior to their buyout they have since emailed me stating that “after further checking it appears I purchased their plugin right after the buyout but before they changed the price and system and that they have updated my account”.
Even though the message seemingly contradicted all their other communications I am confirming that in the end they did go ahead and resolve the issue.
I just want to further advise that my original comment was never meant to reflect on the quality of their plugin and how well it functions as I haven’t had a chance yet to use the software itself since it’s been updated.
Thank you very much, Amber, for sharing your experiences. I found that post during searching if there is something better than DatingSolutions, read your comment and now I think it would be easier to hire a programmer…
See the case resolution reply below Marcin. DatingSolutions is still the best dating plugin for WordPress, hiring a programmer to do it from scratch is very very risky in my opinion.
Here are my experiences with DatingSolutions.
I bought this software in 2011; it advertises the same things as now in terms of free support/upgrades.
I ended up not using it (I like to buy stuff and try it out, then use it if it fits my project); however I was still getting email communications regarding “you should update” and other posts/newsletters etc.
I finally decided to have a peek at the plugin again; I needed to sign up for an account on their site which I didn’t have. I realized this after re-reading an old communication between myself and the company after I didn’t receive my downloadble files (and there was a blip that said register for support/updates).
I registered then contacted support with my username and original PayPal transaction ID (as the only way to get updates is to “upgrade the account by purchasing the product which I had already done).
The first response stated the transaction ID did not reflect the dating plugin purchase. Keep in mind that the manner in these emails is very curt, almost like they really didn’t want to deal with me.
I went a step further and forwarded the original communication of the company emailing me the files (included the old files), and an email where the company acknowledged that transaction and were going to send me the files.
I was told they can’t tell anything from those, they need purchase information and that they bought the company from another person so they have 0 email records. They needed a transaction ID, which they said they had a database of all purchase ID’s for the software.
Fair enough, so I went hunting, reconfirmed the transaction ID (same as what I originally provided) and sent them a copy of my PayPal receipt.
The response (despite having previously mentioned this was bought in 2011) was along the lines of “You bought the plugin under a different owner/different price. The software changed since we bought it. You need to pay the difference to get the plugin.”
Oooook…. don’t get me wrong I don’t mind paying differences (I did buy this in 2011 at a fraction of the cost $50 vs the now $199), however, as I still get email notifications/newsletters from the EXACT SAME company every time something changes with the plugin there was NEVER any indication that there was a buyout or that after said buyout existing users had to pay a fee. The site is still using the same name (DatingSolutions)/parent LLC (MyAllenMedia) and still says “free upgrades”.
I asked if all previous customers that they had taken over were required to pay the difference and that I had never seen notification of this (no email and no blog posts on their site which goes back to 2010); advising that I still get their notification emails.
The response was… “Yes all previous customers have to pay the difference in price. There was no correspondence sent out.”
I blinked at my email on my screen….sooooo… they have all the existing purchasers who were told “free upgrades” and want them to pay the difference in old price vs. the new price but admittedly sent out no communication to those users about it at all… Something felt off here. The entire communication made me feel like if I had registered the account back then this would be a non-issue as there wouldn’t have been a fee.
I asked about the above… how they expected old users to pay when they were never notified they had to (per their own admission), we (purchasers) run on the assumption that since it’s the same company (DatingSolutions)/parent LLC (MyAllenMedia) we’d get the same service we bought. I also asked when this company was taken over (twitter/google/etc. all don’t reflect that their parent company MyAllenMedia LLC was ever bought out)… How would original purchasers ever have known any of that…
I have received no response.
Update: Read my follow-up comment linked here.
Amber, your response makes no sense to me and is confusing as all hell.
I run 420singles.net and use the WordPress dating plugin by Dating Solutions. None of this has ever happened to me and I have only received awesome support. Running a dating site takes a ton of work especially if it’s new. Having knowledge and experience with WordPress helps a lot too. I have over 15,000 real members now and more joining everyday.
Michael’s plugin has allowed me to create an awesome website that generates income and will someday allow me to be my own boss which is my ultimate goal.
I don’t think people realize how much work running an online business takes. It takes just as much work as starting any business and you have to be dedicated and not give up, ever. Once you give up or lose focus your done.
Ryan, I’m sorry that my comment made no sense to you. I don’t find it confusing at all.
I’m glad that the plugin is working for you and that you have gotten awesome support. I have no doubts that running a dating site (or any online business) is a ton of work and I can appreciate that.
In my instance it took a lot of communication before I was recognized as an existing customer (I purchased the software in 2011) so my original comment was solely based on my customer service experience of that process and not product experience.
