When starting to work with the Genesis framework, you might find the going a bit tough until you understand the way it works. Once you’re over that first learning curve, it’s a great ride.

Here are some of the essential tutorials that have helped me get started with Genesis:

  • A better and easier Grid loop – Bill Erickson
  • How to create a custom Archives page – Brian Gardner
  • Adding Custom loops in Genesis – Carrie Dils

I also found the Genesis API reference put up by Gary Jones to be very useful.

  1. The grid loop tutorial by Bill Erickson is really a masterpiece. Every time I want to build a grid loop, I prefer his method than the genesis grid loop method as it gives more flexibility. For example, we can us it to built 3 columns, 4 columns grid and more.
