Do you want to increase the social shares on your WordPress site? Well then you would like the new Floating Social Bar plugin.
Floating Social Bar is a light-weight plugin that allows you to add a floating share bar to your posts and pages without slowing down your site. You can see how it looks in the image below:
The plugin is extremely easy to use, and you can set it up in less than 60 seconds. Once activated, it adds a menu option under Settings » Floating Social Bar.
All you have to do is drag-and-drop the buttons you want to display from available services to the enabled services section. Currently the share bar supports: Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
You can choose to add the title to the share bar, but remember that you have limited horizontal space. Adding a longer title will push the buttons into a second line.
There is an option to enable the social bar on single posts, single pages, and other custom post types.
You can also make the floating share bar static, if you don’t like the floating ability. All you have to do is check the box that says Make Social Bar static. You have the option to either place it above the content, below the content, or both.
There is an option to disable the floating social bar on individual posts or pages if you want. Simply check Hide Social Bar setting when editing the post or page.
Floating share bar is faster than most other social media plugins because it makes use of the socialite script. This script delays the load of bulky sharing scripts until the user brings their mouse over the share buttons. By using this technique, this plugin allows your initial page load to be just as fast as it would be without any social scripts.
This plugin is developed by two excellent developers, Syed Balkhi of WPBeginner and Thomas Griffin. You can be sure that it is very well coded.
