Email marketing is a tried and true way to create, retain, and effectively advertise to your loyal blog or business following. Research shows a message is five times more likely to be seen through email than on social media like Facebook or Twitter. That’s why musicians use email marketing software to share their performance schedule with their fans, non-profits use it to get donations and photographers use it to promote their portrait services. It just works.
Sometimes, however, it can be complicated to figure out how to setup your email lists, and then find the perfect third-party plugin to integrate email forms into your website.
Recently, as an additional value to existing GoDaddy Email Marketing customers, GoDaddy released a plugin that drastically simplifies the process of getting up and running with email marketing, so you can quickly and easily create and send gorgeous, business-boosting emails.
The new plugin is simple, yet powerful, and setup and implementation is straightforward.
First, make sure you’ve created a signup form within your GoDaddy Email Marketing account.
Next, navigate to the admin area of your WordPress site, and download the GoDaddy Email Marketing plugin from the repository.
View the plugin settings, and enter your account details (including API key) where prompted. If you need help finding your API key, click the link labeled “Where can I find my API key?” for instructions.
After you click “Save Settings”, your forms will show up underneath the API key input box.
You’re all set! At this point, adding a signup form to your website is as simple as adding the shortcode to a page or post, or using the pre-created GoDaddy Email Marketing widget. Check out the full implementation instructions for widgets, shortcodes, and theme tags.
The end-result will look a little something like this (remember, the style of the form is related to your theme’s styles). Try it out live.
Of course, the plugin works brilliantly with GoDaddy Managed WordPress, and the Gravity Forms and Ninja Forms integrations for Mad Mimi also work with GoDaddy Email Marketing (just add your GoDaddy email / API key instead of the Mad Mimi info.)
Bottom line: The GoDaddy Email Marketing plugin is designed for simplicity and elegance to make connecting your email prospecting efforts to your WordPress site a breeze.
