Your Instagram link in bio page is the place for you to create your user journey once your audience leaves your Instagram profile and visits your WordPress site. Your Instagram bio is how you can define yourself or your brand for your audience. The link to your Instagram link in bio page is displayed under your profile picture and name on your Instagram account.

Since the link you set on your Instagram Bio appears directly under your profile picture, this is the perfect tool to drive visitors to your WordPress Site.

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to create an Instagram link in bio solution to drive traffic from your Instagram account to posts, products, podcasts, and more using just one plugin: Spotlight.

A link in bio page that facilitates interaction between your Instagram followers and your WordPress website provides multiple opportunities to bring your holistic digital strategy full circle:

  • It can drive page views. Your link in bio is flexible allowing you to move your Instagram audience to your latest blogs, featured products, or latest discussion in your membership site – increasing your site’s SEO and Website traffic.
  • It creates a smooth user journey for your audience. With just one link in your Instagram bio, your target audience will be immersed in your content. You will be able to define your user’s journey using both the global promotions and per-post promotions settings in Spotlight.
  • It increases conversion for your online store. A link in bio page allows you to connect any post or hashtag to a product, making any post shoppable. This means that you can leverage Instagram’s marketing power while transporting customers directly to your online store.

There are multiple ways that you can use Spotlight to design your link in bio page. The most comprehensive way is to duplicate your feed and use the link in bio feed to then design your user journey.

Below is an example of Drive On Podcast using the link in bio to drive their audience to specific podcast episodes.

Here you can see they have set their link in bio on Instagram

Drive On’s link in bio page takes full advantage of being able to steer its audience in multiple directions with just a click of a button.

Install and activate Spotlight on your website. You will need the free version and the pro version to complete this tutorial. Next, we’ll follow 3 simple steps to set up your Instagram feed and link in bio page.

Step 1: Connect your Instagram account and create a feed

Once your account is connected, select the Link in Bio option within Spotlight.

The Link in Bio layout will automatically be selected in the next step.

All you have to do now is to select the account you want to display.

[Optional] Customize your layout

While the Link in Bio layout is designed specifically for this use case, you can still make changes to it. For this example, I’m going to head over to the Design tab and edit a few customization options.

For starters, I’m going to remove the header and add some padding. I’m also going to change the load more button color and remove likes and comments on hover.

In the Link in Bio tab, you’ll be able to connect your Instagram posts to your website. This can be done in 2 ways:

  1. You can manually set up your links by clicking on a post and searching for the post, product, or page.
  2. You can add links to your Instagram posts (within Instagram) and Spotlight will automatically link to that URL without you having to lift a finger”.

In this example, I’ll be going down the manual route. The process is very easy and only requires a few seconds to set up.

Make sure that the Link source is set to Custom per post.

Set Click Behavior to the desired action.

Link directly will take the user directly to the post or product that has been set whereas Open popup allows the user to view the Instagram post and follow the link to your post or product by clicking the button in the lower right corner of the popup.

Select desired post

Notice that if the post already has a link you will see the link designation, otherwise, you will see a + sign.

Select Link in Bio

In the pop-up of the selected image, you will need to set the Link source.

As you can see, there are various choices that you can select here. For this example, we are going to select Post.

Upon selecting Post, you are given a dropdown to choose exactly which article you are directing the user to.

In the Embed tab, Spotlight will enable you to set up a link in bio page with just one click. Select “create a new page” and you will be transported to the block editor.

There, Spotlight will automatically create a link in bio page, complete with a predefined title, buttons, and of course, your link in bio Instagram feed. Simply add your link text and URLs, and you’re good to go!

However, if you’d like to customize it further as I have, you can include your social links and a subscription CTA to increase those leads!

Conclusion

A Parse.ly study found that adding a link in bio to your Instagram profile can drive an additional 10-15 percent of Instagram referral traffic to your landing page. Spotlight can help you capitalize on that percentage by creating a simple but powerful bio page.

Spotlight is an easy-to-use plugin that allows you to a create beautiful, branded link in bio page without any coding knowledge required.

It can help supercharge your online business by improving your SEO, boosting sales, increasing page views, and much more.
