This looks like a very interesting plugin and when I tweeted it the other day already a few people showed interests who have LinkedIn Groups. I would love to snag one of these copies if only to review.
LinkedIn Groups plugin looks like a great way to extend connections easily.
looks very unique plugin. Never seen this type of plugin anywhere. Really want to try this !
Looks like a great plugin for a company site.
Does anyone know if this company is still working. I have opened up 2 support tickets since purchasing this and in both occasions the support is basically non-responsive. My last ticket is going on over a week and this plugin simply does not work. Any update on this would be great as there is nothing worse than bad support and I am willing to give someone a week to reply to a ticket but after that I unfortunately have to look elsewhere.
Hi thanks for your comment. I will try to get in touch with them and if I manage I will let you know.
@Alyona, that would be very much appreciated, thank you kindly. I think with a plugin like this and because its discussion groups and very active support is key and I simply have not been able to get in touch with them at all on a number of channels which is really frustrating. Once more thank you for taking the time here.
Just a quick update for anyone in the a similar boat to myself. I have been checking the ingroupswp website daily for some kind of reaction to the issue I have been having and still nothing. However the website homepage now has this update on their homepage:
“Please note changes to the LinkedIn API no longer allow its members to register and create an API with access to group information without registering with LinkedIn’s Partner Program.
The InGroupsWP plugin at it’s core simply provided an interface which enabled the LinkedIn groups API to talk to WordPress. However, it is dependant on its user registering an individual API key to speak to their exclusive information. At this stage it appears that the registration process that LinkedIn are now requiring makes the viability of the InGroupsWP plugin as a low cost solution questionable.
Unfortunately due to these changes development on the InGroupsWP plugin has ceased and it has been removed from sale.”
I should add, that I have not received any reply to my support ticket. I should also add that its not looking likely as I did not even get a respond to a tweet, direct email, ticket or this comment thread since. I am of course frustrated that the plugin is no longer going to work, but that really is besides the point. There is a way to make these announcements to customers and there is a way to treat customers of your product when you have purchased it an expect some level of support, even an acknowledgement would be nice! Alas I move onto a plugin that is more reliable and has more responsive and business minded people behind it. Thanks for your time Alyona, I hope this thread warns others.
