Opportunity Analysis

Discovering the missing piece in your puzzle.

You’ve built the product. Now you need the feedback to make it more profitable. We’re here to help you do just that, taking inspiration from our own experiences ↓

Targeted upgrade call-to-actions increased our conversion rate from ~5% to over 9%.

The free version of Spotlight, our newest product, picked up the pace at launch, growing from zero to 20,000+ active installs in just 12 months. But the conversion rate was lacking.

After some tinkering, we introduced targeted upgrade call-to-actions throughout the UI, aimed at specific areas that show the most value to the user. Understanding where and how to implement these call-to-actions took our conversion rate* from ~5% to over 9%.

*According to Freemius’ dashboard stats.

A visual onboarding experience resulted in a 57.6% increase in monthly revenue.

Spotlight kept growing nicely into 2022, but we knew it could do better. That’s when we worked on a new guided and visual on-boarding experience to show people the real potential of what they could create with the product, resulting in an increase in conversions from free to premium of 57%.

A pricing experiment produced a 4% increase in annual revenue, with no loss in sales.

One of our products had been performing well for many years. Throughout that time, we experimented with various pricing changes. From dropping the price below $100 to switching pricing model, it’s been through quite quite a few changes.

One of the easiest changes with the biggest return on investment was a simple pricing increase. Given the product’s price point, customers had no problem paying a bit more. By the end of the year, it had resulted in a 4% increase in annual revenue.

You've got to experiment to figure out what works.

We've been running all kinds of experiments on our products for the past decade, from pricing strategies to UI and UX designs. If we had someone offer us something like this back then, it would have saved us time and money every step of the way.

You've built the product.

It’s selling. The features seem good enough. The marketing is kind of there.

But something hasn’t clicked. It could be doing better and you know it.

User feedback isn’t enough. Friends and family are sugar-coating it.

Now you want some real feedback.

That’s why we’re launching an honest, unbiased, half-glass-empty kind of analysis.

We’re here to be the kind of customers that put up a wall between you and their wallet.

Having reviewed hundreds of products at WP Mayor, and also developed, marketed, and sold two successful WordPress plugins of our own, we’ve seen what it takes to build something great.

We’ve also gone down the wrong road without realizing it. Without having someone to give us this kind of guidance, that project failed, costing us time and money. We learnt more from this experience than any of the positives mentioned above.

So our goal now is to help you discover your missed opportunities and potential pitfalls.

Let us be your accountability partner.
