In the past few hours one of the most popular RSS WordPress plugins was removed from the WordPress Plugin Repository. I’m referring to WP RSS Multi Importer.
Support was lacking over the past few months, to say the least, but the sudden complete removal of this plugin has left many users stranded.
For those of you who still use WP RSS Multi Importer, we now recommended switching to WP RSS Aggregator.
This alternative is not only in active development but also offers continuous support, providing peace of mind to those looking to use RSS on their sites.
WP RSS Aggregator’s core plugin is free to download from the WordPress plugin repository, and there are also a number of premium add-ons for you to choose from if you’d like more functionality. These are:
- Feed to Post – an advanced importer that lets you import RSS feeds into posts or custom post types. Populate a website in minutes (autoblog). This is the most popular extension.
- Full Text RSS Feeds – connectivity to the Full Text Premium service, which gives you the full text for an unlimited number of feed items per feed source.
- Keyword Filtering – filter imported feeds based on keywords, so you only get items you’re interested in.
- Excerpts & Thumbnails – display excerpts and thumbnails together with the title, date and source.
- Categories – categorise your feed sources and display items from a particular category at will within your site.
- WordAi – WordAi allows users to take an RSS feed and turn it into new content that is both completely unique and completely readable.
- SpinnerChief – SpinnerChief allows users to take an RSS feed and turn it into new content that is both completely unique and completely readable.
All these add-ons also include a 30% renewal discount. For any further information on WP RSS Aggregator and any of its add-ons you can get in touch with the team through the live chat on the website or via the premium Support System.

Disappointed because forcing me to pay $80 per year is too much. One time and upgrading a few years later maybe.
Hi debinfosec, which add-on are you referring to exactly? Perhaps you missed the fact that there’s a 30% renewal discount every year after your initial purchase.
You may also opt out of renewing your license every year should you want to do that (not possible if you’re using our Full Text RSS Feeds add-on – this add-on requires a valid license key to work and connect to our premium full text service).
On the add-ons page there are three price levels, the highest one called “Up to Twenty Sites”. Does that mean that WP RSS Aggregator does not support importing from more than twenty feeds?
Hi Martin,
No, that means you can have the add-on activated and licensed on 20 websites at once. You can always import from as many sources as you’d like (and your setup can support).
Too bad RSS Multi Importer is a superior tool! And was free!
Hey John, remember that RSS Multi Importer was a fork of WP RSS Aggregator. It’s author included features that are available as premium add-ons within WP RSS Aggregator, and since these features require constant development and support, it’s author was unable to keep up (while doing it all for free) which is why it was removed from the repo.
WP RSS Aggregator, although coming at a cost for certain additional features, provides a far superior product that is in constant development, implementing new features and fixes on a constant basis, and with a great support system behind it.
What are/were you using it for? I’m sure we can help you out to achieve something even better with WP RSS Aggregator 🙂
It is much too expensive WP RSS Aggregator…
What do you want to build with it Kath?
WP RSS Multi Importer? Seems to up and running.
It’s no longer there again. It was only back up again for a short while. Not sure what’s going on, but it doesn’t seem to be in active development. On the contrary WP RSS Aggregator and its add-ons are regularly updated and very well supported.
