It also looks out for passive voice, consecutive sentences, paragraph length, and subheading distribution, among others.

3. Rewrite & Republish tool in Yoast Duplicate Post

The Yoast SEO plugin.

While there are many plugins that let you duplicate a post, the Yoast Duplicate Post plugin has one key feature that is essential for writers – the Rewrite & Republish tool. This free tool lets you create a temporary clone of the article you wish to update, ensuring that your original post remains untouched while you work on a draft update.

After you update your article, enhance its readability, and improve its SEO using Yoast SEO Premium above, you can then compare the draft to the original article. This helps you keep track of any changes. This is especially useful if multiple writers are working on the same blog. Once you’re ready to publish, simply hit the republish button and the plugin will automatically update your content.

Main Features:

  1. Can I suggest you “Proofreading” plugin?
I think it is very helpful to find grammar/typo/text errors and a great setting is that you can specify which type of errors you are interesting on.

  2. Hi, I don’t like to be rude just because it’s Internet and because it’s free. But, I totally agreed with Gaurav and I also feel not only disappointed but cheated too. Contact Form 7? Disqus comments? Yoast SEO? Digg Digg? Seriously? Why not Woocommerce? ‘You can sell your book.’

Come on. You’re missing great plugins on this list. Except for a few ones, the rest of them are useful for a whatever-you-do list. Not for writers only, as the post title claims. Let me show a real-list for writers and editorials:

Drop Cap Shortcode: This plugin give you freedom to insert dropcap or not. Just change your first letters into a shortcode. Example: [T]his is my paragraph with a drop cap. The first letter ‘T’ will turn into a drop cap.

Edit Author Slug: Allows an Admin (or capable user) to edit the author slug of a user, and change the Author Base. i.e. – (WordPress default structure) example[dot]com/author/username/ (Plugin allows) example[dot]com/ninja/master-ninja/

Edit Flow: Edit Flow empowers you to collaborate with your editorial team inside WordPress.

Co-Authors Plus: Assign multiple bylines to posts, pages, and custom post types via a search-as-you-type input box.

And the list continue. I’ll not do the job for you guys. But please, do not deceive people just because you want some traffic. If you have a good idea like a list about plugins for writers, please, do a list with plugins FOR WRITERS.

  3. I would like to add one more to that list…

Watsonfinds is a WordPress Plugin which is connected to the sentiment analysis of IBM Watson.

This plugin relies on artificial intelligence for analyzing your content and giving you insights about the emotions that your audience may perceive as they read it.

Its main purpose is helping copywriters, marketers or any person to understand the emotions of their words to always transmit the intended message by evoking the right feelings.

  4. Firstly thanks for such a great collection of wp plugins, i am looking forward to do better content management thus would tryout google doc embedded, editorial calendar and just writing.

  5. Thanks for these plugin recommendations! Although I am tech savvy, I rather use plugins like these and spend more time writing 🙂

  6. HI Guarav, what were you looking for exactly? We’d love to hear what you have to say, maybe we can even set up another post based on your feedback 🙂
