Best Facebook Plugins for WordPress

Integrating your WordPress site or blog with social media is a must in today's world, especially when it comes to the most popular social media; Facebook. The plugins I've complied in this list are great for doing just that.

When running a blog or website in today’s world it’s important to remember the social aspect of it. Yes, users might visit your blog every now and again and check out what you’ve been up to, but they spend most of their time on social media, Facebook being one of the most commonly used.

That’s why it’s vital for you to combine the two, integrating social media into your blog. Today I’m going to focus specifically on Facebook integration; one of the most popular social media platforms.

But what can you do to integrate Facebook into your blog?

Well, there are a number of ways to combine the two. You can create a social login whereby visitors must login through their Facebook account in order to comment; add like or share buttons to your blog posts; publish blog posts straight to your Facebook page for added exposure; and even integrate Facebook comments into the blog post itself.

All these things can be done using WordPress plugins,resulting in increased traffic for your site and a boost to your social media presence.

The following is our list of the best WordPress plugins for Facebook integration (in no particular order).

  1. Hi Mark, I’m specifically looking for a plug in that will import Facebook reviews rather than comments or likes, do you know if any of these support that functionality?

    1. Hi, not sure about that to be honest. I haven’t come across such a use case myself before and it wasn’t something I based this list on. I’m sure there must be one that includes this functionality if you have a look through them though.

  2. When importing images / comments feed, can the items get imported into your database in case a major change forces it not to work or if you wish to remove the plugin?

    1. Hi Elliot, we’re updating the post right now, thanks for bringing it to our attention! If you have any plugins that you prefer to use for integrating a WordPress site and Facebook, we’d like to hear about them too.

  3. Hey Mark

    Regarding the Facebook comments, they are great for social shares.

    One problem is that google does not crawl the comments.

    Been trying to find a solution, and noticed there is a wordpress plugin that makes the comments crawable. Its called ‘Crawlable Facebook Comments’.

    Only thing is, its not been updated for 5 years and I’m not sure if it works anymore.

  4. Looking for a plugin/app that will ‘grab’ (pull?) items from a FB status (not page) into the blog. Even if it emails the status (which I can grab via Postie plugin.

    Is this possible?

  5. Hi

  7. hi, ultime facebook from WPMUDEV was deprecated and long gone from the platform. Currently if you look for “facebook” plugins in wpmudev, there are no more in existecen (there used to be a couple)

  8. FeedWind also provides a Facebook feed widget – Completely customizable with CSS, horizontal scroll and will work in nearly any website with a simple copy/paste of the code after creating your widget which takes just a minute or two.

  9. Is there a plugin that hints users to share the site to their Facebook When they will close the site?

  10. Hello, you overview cannot be called not the freshest but still it is very informative. Thanks for that!

    Would you mind updating it a little? For example with this:
    Ultimate Facebook – already not available;
    Add link to Facebook – removed from WordPress catalogue;
    Fatpanda Facebook comments – hasn’t been updated for more than a year.

    I think you can delete those from your list. And here’s a new one: https://elfsight.com/facebook-feed-widget/ . It’s new and deserves a place in your overview. There’s an online demo on the page, do try it!

    Thanks again! I hope you will update you great overview for new users!

    1. Hi Jack, thanks for sharing. I see that this plugin isn’t used by many people. What makes you say that it’s the best one out there?

      1. It does not take much space on the website because of the box slider and it also use pure CSS animations so there is no conflicts between jQuery libraries. Check the demo on your mobile, this plugin is just awesome for my needs.

        Regards

  11. Pretty nice post!! Thanks, Zahra for sharing the collections of WordPress social plugins. I have been continuously surfing around Google to find social plugins which would help me in website creation. Could you suggest me an apt one to integrate the facebook page to my blog website?

  12. Hello, I am a little late to the blog plugins party but I was wondering whether there’s a plugin to instantly translate comments to other languages the way twitter offers translation for tweets? I don’t want to use WPML to translate comments.

    Thanks in advance.
